There are different views in
government on how to solve Campania's waste crisis but the
government contract is the guide, Premier Giuseppe Conte said
Monday.
Speaking ahead of a cabinet meeting in Caserta to sign a
protocol of understanding on the 'Land of Fires' where waste
fires are a toxic emergency, Conte said "there is no polemic,
there are a few differing views but the government's political
direction is clear and the contract is the guide".
Deputy premiers Luigi Di Maio and Matteo Salvini have clashed
on whether to build incinerators to help ease the crisis, with
League leader Salvini in favour and 5-Stare leader Di Maio
against.
