Economy Minister Giovanni Tria
said Tuesday that the rise in Italy's bond spread was not
justified, adding that he was not expecting a new crisis.
"The spread (level) is not justified with respect to the
fundamentals of our economy," Tria told a parliamentary session
on the government's DEF economic blueprint.
He added that, although the current spread levels were "not
acceptable", up to now "there has not been an explosion of the
spread, as some feared.
"We think that it can come back down to a normal level as we
explain the budget," he continued.
