The Senate on Wednesday approved
the government's criminal-justice reform bill in a confidence
vote. The bill passed with 156 votes in favour, 121 against and
one abstention. The legislation now returns to the Lower House,
which approved the bill in September 2015, as it was amended by
the Senate. One amendment obliges the government to present
decrees on wiretaps related to the reform within three months.
