A Milan judge on Monday granted a
prosecutor's request to extend a probe into a mayor contract for
Milan Expo 2015, the Piastra project, by six months, sources
said.
Milan Mayor Giuseppe Sala, the former Expo commissioner, is
among seven people under investigation in the probe.
Sala, who won city elections last year at the helm of a
centre-left ticket, briefly suspended himself last month after
it emerged he was under investigation in relation to the Piastra
project to create the 'pavement' on which the Expo pavilions
were built.
He denies any wrongdoing.
