Rome prosecutors have asked for a
further 24 indictments in the sprawling Capital Mafia case of a
gang that muscled in on city contracts, judicial sources said
Friday. Among them are cooperatives boss Salvatore Buzzi, former
Democratic Party city caucus leader Francesco D'Ausilio and the
former director general of rubbish collection agency AMA,
Giovanni Fiscon. AT the centre of this third tranche of the
Capital Mafia investigations are various episodes, between 2011
and 2014, of alleged corruption, bid-rigging, illegal
divulgation of information and illicit funding, sources said.
In the main Capital Mafia trial Buzzi is accused of being the
right-hand man of the head of the alleged mafia syndicate in the
Italian capital, Massimo Carminati, a former member of the NAR
neofascist terrorist group and of the Banda della Magliana crime
gang.
