The ruling centre-left Democratic
Party (PD) will wind up internal talks on changing the Italicum
electoral law next week, PD Lower House Whip Luigi Zanda said
Thursday, saying he as confident of success to heal an internal
rift. PD leader and Premier Matteo Renzi set up an internal body
to debate changes after a dissenting minority demanded changes.
The areas being reviewed are the run-off, the winner's bonus and
the way MPs are selected, with the minority pushing for voters
to be able to directly select more of them.
