(ANSAmed) - Rome, October 27 - Saudi Arabia's Ambassador
to Rome Rayed Khalid A. Krimly hailed relations with Italy at an
ANSA Forum on Thursday.
"Relations between Italy and Saudi Arabia are very solid
- in the economic, political and intelligence fields," Krimly
told the forum entitled 'Italy and Saudi Arabia, Beyond the
Crisis, the Common Challenges and New Opportunities'.
"But there are big margins for improvement".
The ambassador explained that "Italy is among the top 10
exporter countries to Saudi Arabia".
"Economic cooperation is on the increase and there are
many companies present in our country working on important
projects," he added.
"In the same way, many Saudis visit Italy. We also
benefit from Italian help regarding archaeology.
"Nevertheless, I think that our cooperation can expand in
many other sectors, including cultural and educational
exchanges.
"We are part of the international group to combat
financing of ISIS with Italy and the USA.
"The Italians are more aware of the links to the
Mediterranean and to the Arab world and your country is an
important bridge between the Arab world, Africa and the rest of
Europe".
