The government on Wednesday
nixed a petition from the small Italian Left (SI) party binding
the government, as Premier Matteo Renzi warned Tuesday, to veto
the EU budget if Italy does not get the help it wants on the
migrant and refugee emergency, SI House whip Arturo Scotto said.
"It's incredible, they rejected exactly what Renzi said on TV
last night...we're awaiting clarification," Scotto said.
