The government will continue
cutting taxes, Premier Matteo Renzi told RTL private FM radio on
Thursday. "Next year we will bring IRES and IRI (business taxes)
down to 24%," he said. "We will not intervene to raise taxes -
the cuts are there to stay". The premier also said he thinks
Italy's GDP data will be "positive" and that an increase is
"probable". Istat national statistics bureau is set to release
second-quarter GDP figures tomorrow. "The point is that Italy is
cutting its deficit," he said. "We're working step by step - I
work for the future, in order to reignite the desire to invest".
