Alessandro Solidoro, the head of
Rome municipal waste company AMA, resigned on Thursday in a
fresh headache for Mayor Virginia Raggi. Solidoro was appointed
less than a month ago as a replacement for then AMA chairman
Daniele Fortini. Earlier Thursday anti-establishment 5-Star
Movement (M5S) member Raggi lost her cabinet chief, budget
councillor and the top two managers at transport company ANAC in
rows over salaries and funding. Raggi, Rome's first woman mayor,
won office in a landslide in June.
