The national partisans'
association ANPI on Friday said it would accept Premier Matteo
Renzi's invitation to debate a referendum on the government's
overhaul of Italy's political machinery. It said the date, venue
and choice of moderator would have to be agreed. The debate is
expected to take place at one of Renzi's Democratic Party's (PD)
Festa dell'Unità events. ANPI is against the government's
constitutional reform that aims to cut gridlock by turning the
Senate into a smaller, regionally based body with limited
powers.
