Rome Mayor Virginia Raggi on
Monday unveiled her 40-page program for the city she was elected
to lead last June.
Raggi's program envisages an overhaul the public transport
system that includes a new industrial plan for perennially
troubled ATAC public transport company, intelligent traffic
lights, and more telecommuting; an extraordinary allocation for
school renovations and safety; rewriting the capital's statute
to include the "right to water"; and setting up a web portal
where citizens can upload their ideas, suggestions and
petitions.
The program also calls for including TARI trash collection
tax on utilities bills to prevent widespread dodging, a
"targeted spending review" of the city's various departments,
and building an archeological park on the Appian Way.
