Annamaria Furlan on Tuesday urged the government to issue a
"fair" national public sector employment contract after what she
said was a "fruitful" meeting earlier today between labor and
Civil Service Minister Marianna Madia.
"We hope the talks achieve a positive result and a good
collective bargaining contract," Furlan said.
"Public employees have been working without a contract for
seven years, and the resources allocated thus far aren't
enough," Furlan said.
"We call on the government to find further resources and to
give us a fair contract," she said.
Money could be found via a "serious fight against waste and
embezzlement", Furlan pointed out.
