Italian Left (SI) Rome mayoral
candidate Stefano Fassina on Monday told an ANSA forum he was
against the political use of judicial cases.
Fassina said he backed a recent appeal by Italian mayors and
supported anti-establishment 5-Star Movement Parma Mayor
Federico Pizzarotti, probed over theatre appointments, against
calls for him to resign, just as he had done Democratic Party
Campania Governor Vincenzo De Luca, probed and then cleared for
abuse of office when Salerno mayor.
"The problem is those who use judicial measures for
political ends and therefore a notice of investigation can
become a definitive sentence," Fassina said.
