Premier Matteo Renzi said Thursday
that he was not fully satisfied with the degree of flexibility
in the application of the EU's budget rules that it has obtained
from the European Commission. "In recent years Italian
governments spend 40 billion euros in public investment, the
half of 2007, so it's clear that Italian growth is not at 2%,"
he told a news conference at the G7 summit in Japan. "After
elbowing in Europe on flexibility, we have managed to go from 40
billion in investment in the 2012-13 period to 58 in the 2014-15
one".
