Rome mayoral candidate Roberto Giachetti presented his would-be
city council in a Facebook posting Monday.
If he wins the June 5 election, Giachetti said he would
appoint Livia Turco to social services, welfare and immigration;
Silvia Scozzese to the budget; Lorenza Baroncelli to urban
renewal; prison warden Carla Ciavarella would oversee public
property, housing, special projects and assets seized from the
mafia; Claudia Servillo would be tasked with the environment and
waste disposal; Stefania Di Serio would be in charge of
transport; former Rome police chief Francesco Tagliente would be
tasked with security; Marco Rossi Doria would be in charge of
education, and Marino Sinibaldi would be head of culture and
tourism.
Giachetti added that former city councillor for legality
Alfonso Sabella would be his cabinet chief.
All the would-be councillors are "Romans by birth, adoption
or choice," Giachetti said.
"They are not my friends - they are friends of Rome".
Giachetti is currently deputy speaker of the Lower
House.
