Varese prosecutors have requested a
fraud indictment against the eldest son of Umberto Bossi,
founder of the rightwing anti-immigrant Northern League party,
sources said Tuesday.
Several business owners reported Riccardo Bossi to police
for allegedly failing to pay 7,000 euros for jewelry and 2,600
euros for new car tires.
In October last year, Riccardo Bossi was indicted in a
separate case for failing to make good a 27,000-euro debt for
jewelry and a luxury watch.
In March, a Milan court sentenced him to a year and eight
months in prison for aggravated misappropriation for using
Northern League funds for personal expenses.
In Italy, sentences under two years are usually suspended.
