Conflict weakens all the sides
involved, President Sergio Mattarella said on Thursday during
the opening of the academic year at the Superior School of the
Judiciary in Scandicci near Florence.
"Conflict weakens all the sides pitted against each other,"
he said amid a row between the political and judicial worlds
sparked by ANM magistrates' union chief Piercamillo Davigo's
assertion that politicians "haven't stopped stealing, they've
just stopped being ashamed of it".
Mattarella said the "well-ordered progress of institutional
life strengthens the sense of State and its commitment against
corruption".
