Affairs Commissioner Dimitris Avramopoulos said Wednesday that
Vienna wants to "find a solution" to the Brenner Pass question,
adding that the European Commission is "against the closure of
borders but every State must assume its responsibilities". he
said Greece and Italy "have done a lot of work but must do
more". Austria has started building a 250-metre wall on its side
of the border with Italy in view of an expected mass influx of
migrants and refugees across the Mediterranean this summer.
