Interior Minister Angelino Alfano
said Tuesday that Italy's Muslim community has helped
authorities identify and expel radicalized potential terrorists.
"I have something to say to those who would (tarnish everyone
with the same brush)," Alfano said. "We have arrested or
expelled more than one subject thanks to the contribution of the
Muslim communities, who reported rotten apples in their midst".
Alfano said the interior and justice ministries are working with
national prison authorities to monitor Islamic radicalization
behind bars. "We must separate those who pray from those who
shoot," Alfano said. "If sermons become hymns to violence or
calls for solidarity with terrorists, the only two options are
prison or deportation".
