The former Democratic Party (PD)
mayor of the Basilicata town of Corleto Perticara, Rosaria
Vicino, is to stay under house arrest in a southern Italian oil
probe, judicial sources said Monday. A preventive detention
review court rejected her appeal to be released. Vicino is
accused of corruption in relation to the probe, which has
touched the PD-led government. Industry minister Federica Guidi,
while not under investigation, resigned over an amendment
favouring her oil-industry boyfriend, Gianluca Gemelli.
