Premier Matteo Renzi said in his
online newsletter Thursday that thanks to stable institutions
Italy can now be a key player on the foreign affairs front,
including in Iran. "We have many points of distance from Iran,
beginning with human rights," he wrote. "But we believe the
nuclear deal is a positive one and that this great country - the
child of the great Persian culture - can make a positive
contribution to peace and stability in the region". "We are
building opportunities in many areas of common work - for once,
we got there early with respect to other countries," Renzi
added.
