Cartoonist Vauro unleashed a wave
of criticism Tuesday by drawing anti-establishment 5-Star
Movement (M5S) leader Beppe Grillo as a puppet with his strings
cut off after the death of M5S co-founder and 'guru' Gianroberto
Casaleggio.
"I'll dedicate Casaleggio's last words to you, so maybe
you'll learn to be more humane," said one critical tweet.
Not only M5S supporters were angry.
"I hate Grillo and the M5S and I love satire and your
cartoons. But this is decidedly uncalled for, you don't joke
about death like this, it's extremely disrespectful," said
another tweet.
Casaleggio died Tuesday at 61.
His last words published on Grillo's blog last week were:
"There are no chiefs and the only recognised leaders are
the citizens belonging to the M5S community," Casaleggio wrote.
"We are a community that determines itself on line and the
instruments available to us are evolving day by day," he added.
