Premier Matteo Renzi said during an official visit to Naples Wednesday that his government is allocating 272 million euros to the cleanup of a former steelworks at Bagnoli. "This is the money Bagnoli needs to get back into the hands of the people of Naples, for Naples to be the capital of the South and for Italy to be a nation deserving of the future," he said. "Here we have a political class that has pledged to unblock Italy and to clean it up. We don't intend to back down by a single centimeter with respect to this commitment," he added. Bagnoli proves "these are facts, not mere talk," Renzi said. "However if you want to follow (those who engage in) mere talk, there is no lack of examples". Later he wrote on Facebook: "We will do everything we can to unblock (the southern region of) Campania - to unblock Italy. There are those who scream and those who work. That's all."
