After clashing with police on the
seafront protesters against Premier Matteo Renzi's Wednesday
visit to Naples then took the metro to the central Galleria
Umberto for an assembly and a press conference at 16:30.
The far-left activists filed onto the metro in an orderly
fashion at Mergellina Station.
They are protesting not only against Renzi's plans to clean
up and revamp the Bagnoli former steel works site but also
against the government's labour-market policies.
Many of the young people in the demo chanted slogans saying
how hard it was for them, thanks to Renzi, to find steady jobs.
