Premier Matteo Renzi said Tuesday
he would propose a new industry minister in a matter of days to
replace Federica Guidi who resigned over a southern Italian oil
probe. "In the next few days I will propose to the president
(Sergio Mattarella) the name of the new industry minister," said
Renzi, who earlier took on the post in an interim capacity.
"There's work to be done for the SMEs, there's a problem with
taxes, but even more serious is the damage that comes from the
bureaucratic system. Simplifying is more urgent than lowering
taxes," he said.
