The Indian supreme court's
decision to suspend proceedings against two Italian marines
accused of killing two Indian fishermen is "coherent" with
Monday's ruling by the International Tribunal on the Law of the
Sea (ITLOS) instructing India and Italy to desist from
proceedings and putting the case to the International Court of
Justice in The Hague, Italy's legal representative in the case,
Francesco Azzarello, said Wednesday. He noted that ITLOS had
"upheld Italy's request".
