Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni
said Monday "the Italian government will remain committed to the
goal of guaranteeing the freedom of the two marines" accused of
killing two Indian fishermen in February 2012. The Hamburg-based
court of the sea said Monday Salvatore Girone would have to stay
in custody in India. Massimilano Latorre is on sick leave in
Italy till December. Some legal experts say the ruling means he
might be able to stay in Italy longer.
