Matteo Salvini, leader of the
right-wing Northern League, said Monday that his party could not
be linked with the New Centre Right (NCD)party led by Interior
Minister Angelino Alfano because Alfano's party is too close to
Premier Matteo Renzi. "Alfano is the symbol of a party that has
chosen Renzi," said Salvini. He sounded more update on working
with ex-premier Silvio Berlusconi's Forza Italia (FI),
especially since he said it has become more critical of Renzi.
"FI has decided to be in opposition and this fills us with joy".
