(see related) Giovanni Toti, a senior member of Silvio Berlusconi's Forza Italia (FI) party, on Saturday said he did not think the centre-right group should react to Premier Matteo Renzi nominating Sergio Mattarella for president by seeking to sink institutional reforms, ANSA sources said. Berlusconi said Renzi's decision to nominate a candidate he is unhappy with breaks the so-called Nazareno Pact the leaders struck last year for a new election law and revamp of Italy's political machinery. "A retaliation foul on the reforms would be unjustifiable," Toti told Renato Schifani, a senior member of the New Centre Right (NCD) party, in parliament, the sources said. But Toti also warned that "the climate will change" after the presidential election.
