Ex center-right premier Silvio Berlusconi told a meeting of the executive of his Forza Italia (FI) party Tuesday the so-called Nazareno Pact he made with center-left Premier Matteo Renzi on electoral and institutional reforms must be preserved. Berlusconi said honoring the pact will among other things, allow FI a say in choosing a successor to President Giorgio Napolitano, sources present at the meeting said. Prominent FI officials questioned Berlusconi's leadership after the party's poor showing in regional elections Sunday.
