Europe must "intervene, not sleep
as it has in the past" in Iraq, Italian Premier Matteo Renzi
said Thursday.
"For the first time Europe is in the front line and not
watching from the sidelines," the premier said on Silvio
Berlusconi's flagship news programme, TG5.
Renzi echoed the view he voiced on an Iraq trip as EU duty
president Wednesday that the ISIS Sunni militia onslaught risked
producing "more Srebrenicas", referring to a 1995 Bosnian Muslim
genocide.
