International tourists spent over
35.7 billion euros in Italy in 2015, 4.4% up on the previous
year, according to Venice Ca' Foscari University's CISET
research unit. The report, which will be presented on April 22,
said spending by Italians abroad was up 1.5% to 22 billion euros
- meaning the tourism industry's 'balance of payments' showed a
surplus of 13.7 billion euros, 9.6% up on 2014.
