Milan's Expo world fair held
an organic food fest on Tuesday attended by Italy's deputy
agriculture minister Andrea Olivero.
The event, held at the fair's Biodiversity Park and
promoted by Italy's agriculture ministry, was focused on
innovative and sustainable methods of organic farming.
The Expo's International Organic Forum signed a document
during the celebrations in which it underlined the way in which
the sector is capable of feeding the planet in the future,
supporting family farms and employment and protecting
biodiversity.
"I am deeply convinced that organic food represents the
most advanced part of our agriculture," said Olivero, adding
that the event was an important moment to reaffirm the central
role that organic food plays in the world.
