Dario Fo's son Jacopo has
blasted many people who paid tribute to his Nobel-prize winning
father after his death on Thursday for hypocrisy.
"Yes, now everyone celebrates Dario," Jacopo said on his
Facebook page.
"After a lifetime in which they did everything to censor
him and strike him an every way. F**k off," he added, possibly
referring to his father's limited exposure on Italian
television.
Fo, who passed away in a Milan hospital aged 90, was an
outspoken critic of Italy's political and religious life and was
despised by many figures in the establishment.
Jacopo Fo congratulated Renato Brunetta, the Lower House
whip for Silvio Berlusconi's opposition centre-left Forza Italia
party, for breaking conventions about speaking ill of the death.
"Honour to Brunetta, who said he did not like my father,"
he said.
Fo's body will lie in State at Milan's Piccolo Teatro
Strehler theatre Friday and Saturday, when a non-religious
ceremony will be held in Milan's central Piazza Duomo.
