Italian writer Nicola Lagioia
has been named the new director of the Turin Book Fair, said
Italian daily La Repubblica, for whom Lagioia is a contributing
writer, in a pre-announcement online Thursday.
ANSA confirmed the appointment of 43-year-old Lagioia,
winner of the 2015 Strega Prize for his book 'The Ferocity', to
the post.
Lagioia was selected by the High Coordinating Committee of
the Turin Book Fair, whose members include Piedmont Regional
Governor Sergio Chiamparino and Turin Mayor Chiara Appendino.
The appointment will be confirmed by the board of directors
of the book fair's managing body, the Book Foundation, on Friday
morning.
