A few of Italy's most established musical performers are headlining this autumn's concert season, with Ligabue celebrating 25 years since the release of his single 'Urlando Contro il Cielo' (Screaming at the Sky) and Zucchero offering up 10 dates at the Verona Arena.
Ligabue's concerts are among the most highly anticipated among the big names this autumn, with his Liga Rock Park tour to hit the outdoor Monza Park venue near Milan, which can accommodate up to 100,000 spectators, on September 24 and 25.
Ligabue says 'Urlando Contro il Cielo' is the only song he's performed at all his live concerts since its 1991 release.
Zucchero is slated for a preview show in Rimini on September 12, to be followed by a 10-concert series from September 16-28 at the Verona Arena, where he'll be presenting his latest album, Black Cat. Slipped in between Zucchero's dates in Verona will be French singer-songwriter Charles Aznavour, who will be appearing for the first time at the Arena on September 14 in the only Italian date of his world tour.
Another concert to feature in Verona is the September 19 "Friends in the Arena" show to raise awareness against femicide.
Organized by Loredana Bertè and Fiorella Mannoia, the concert has an all-female lineup of singers including Gianna Nannini, Alessandra Amoroso, Elisa, Emma, Irene Grandi, Noemi, Paola Turci, Nina Zilli, and Elodie.
Indoor stadiums will also see their share of the big names this autumn, with Biagio Antonacci among the first of the performers to head back indoors with three dates in Milan (September 7, 9, and 10) and three in Rome (September 14, 16, and 17).
Pop phenomenon Emma takes her Adesso (Now) tour to the Mediolanum Forum in Milan on September 16 and 17, and then to the Palalottomatica stadium in Rome on September 23rd and 24th.
But not all the big names are Italian this autumn: The Who will be in Italy with their 50th anniversary tour, in Bologna on September 17 and Milan on September 19.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers are set to play the Unipol Arena in Casalecchio di Reno, near Bologna, on October 8, before heading to Turin on October 10 and 11.
