An art historian announced
Monday he has discovered the living descendants of Leonardo da
Vinci.
Alessandro Vezzosi, who directs the Leonardo da Vinci Ideal
Museum in the town of Vinci - Leonardo's birthplace Florence
province - said he and historian Agnese Sabato will present
their findings based on 43 years of multidisciplinary research
next Thursday during a conference titled Leonardo Lives.
Some direct descendants of the Renaissance genius will be
on hand, Vezzosi said.
The implications of this discovery is that scientists may
be able to isolate the master's DNA, 15 generations later, he
added.
Leonardo was born in Vinci on April 15, 1452 and died in
France on May 2, 1519.
