An adaptation of an Edgar Allen
Poe short story takes center stage at the Rome Film Festival on
Wednesday as Stonehearst Asylum, directed by Brad Anderson,
makes its European premiere.
The psychological thriller set in Victorian England at the
turn of the century is loosely based on Poe's The System of
Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether, and stars Ben Kingsley,
Michael Caine and Kate Beckinsale.
