A 74-year-old British citizen,
Michael Whitbread, is to be extradited to Italy on suspicion of
murdering his 66-year-old British cohabiting partner Michele
Faiers in their holiday home in Abruzzo last October after a
London court approved the extradition Wednesday.
Faiers' lifeless body was found in the bedroom of the converted
farmhouse at Casoli near Chieti on November 1 with nine stab
wounds in her back and chest.
She is believed to have been killed between October 29 and 31.
Whitbread was arrested after fleeing to England on November 1.
He will go on trial next November.
