A Rome police officer used his service
weapon, a pistol, to kill a female colleague he knew in the
hallway of her building in the Italian capital before driving
away and turning the weapon on himself, police said Thursday.
The victim was named as Pier Paola Romano and the shooter as
Massimiliano Carpineti.
The pair had worked together at the public safety and security
inspectorate of the Italian Lower House of parliament, police
sources said.
