A 48-year-old Italian woman
definitively cleared of murdering two elderly patients by the
supreme Court of Cassation Monday night said Tuesday she wants
to return to nursing after being suspended following an earlier
conviction in late 2020.
"Now I want to think a little about myself, enjoy my family.
Then I'd like to return to my work one day," said the woman,
Daniela Poggiali.
"This case has brought me a lot of pain but hasn't squashed my
belief that I am a good nurse and I can do my job again, like I
did before".
Poggiali said she was "retasting the incredible flavour of
freedom".
