Some 53% of Italians were happy
with the economic situation at the start of 2018, ISTAT said
Friday.
This was a "significant" rise on 2017, when the index had
stalled, the statistics agency said.
There was a geographical split in the figures, ISTAT said.
Some 60% in the north said they were happy compared to 52.6%
in the centre and 43.7% in the south.
ISTAT's life satisfaction interest for Italy rose from 6.9
points last year to 7 out of 10 in the first few months of last
year compared to 2017, the statistics agency said Friday.
Italians aged 14 and up were asked the question "At the
moment how satisfied are you about your life in general?".
