One of Naples's famous
nativity-scene artisans on Monday expressed regret after causing
a furore by displaying a figure of Adolf Hitler in his workshop.
"I wouldn't put it on show again," said Genny Di Virgilio, a
craftsman who is friends with many celebrities and VIPs.
"I only did it to satisfy the request of a customer who
commissioned it from me.
"I didn't think of the political or ideological effects. It's
just a job for me".
The workshop also features a figure of Benito Mussolini.
"Everyone has that one. Its a piece that sells a lot," he
said.
