Finance Guard tax police on
Monday searched the offices of the harbour master in the
northeastern Italian port of Trieste.
The port authority was not involved in the operation.
The police reportedly seized documents and official acts,
sources said.
The operation follows several recent complaints against the
harbour master's staff, sources said.
Police searched the office and home of one of the staff, who
has had various complaints filed against him, sources said.
They seized documents and files from him, the sources said.
The operations regarded irregularities committed in the
private sphere, sources said.
