The Lazio regional government
said Tuesday that it has set up a "protection zone" as part of
"extraordinary health measures" after a outbreak of bird flu was
detected at a poultry farm at Tivoli, near Rome.
It said the "protection zone" regarded Tivoli, Castel Madama
and Rome, adding that a "surveillance zone" has also been
established involving 17 municipalities to the east of the
capital.
