The town council of Sesto San
Giovanni near Milan on Tuesday revoked permission to build what
would have been the biggest mosque in northern Italy. The
council pointed to "serious and repeated breaches of commitments
made in 2013 and 2015 conventions by the Islamic Cultural
Centre". The council passed the motion revoking a land grant
with only the centre-left Democratic Party voting against.
