At least 156 people went missing in
the Mediterranean since last Friday, the International
Organization for Migration (IOM) said Wednesday. It said that
with 34 migrants drowned off Libya Wednesday, some 1,500 people
had died in the Med this year, 1,400 of them on the Libya-Italy
route. The Italian Coast Guard said around 1,800 migrants had
been rescued today.
