Carabinieri police arrested a
71-year-old man Monday after he shot his wife, who wanted to end
the marriage.
Police say Costantino Ara went to the home 61-year-old
Liliana Dettori shared with the couple's 40-year-old son. An
argument ensued over the separation, which ended in the woman
taking bullets to the side, an arm, and a thigh.
She was hospitalized and is not in life-threatening
condition.
Ara fled in a car, which he subsequently abandoned only to
continue his flight on foot. Police picked him up soon after.
