A woman died in Pescara Friday
after being stabbed by her former partner at the end of a row in
their former home, police said. The man was taken to hospital
after trying to commit suicide with the knife. The victim was
named as Jennifer Sterlecchini, 26 and the suspected murderer
Davide Troilo, 32. She had left the home they had shared a few
days ago and on Friday she returned to collect her things,
police said, after which a row ensued. Troilo slammed the door
on Sterlecchini's mother who tried to intervene. Carabinieri
found her body on the floor alongside Troilo's. His condition is
not said to be serious and he may be moved to a Carabinieri
barracks for questioning. Police were called by a neighbour who
heard Sterlecchini's screams.
